"Children should be seen but not heard" right....Wrong!
REALLY?!
When did society start believing this?
That's how I grew up....
Children don't wake up one morning and decide to infiltrate drama into their lives because they're bored.
Children don't decide to dissociate to seek attention.
Children don't decide to 'act out' for the hell of it, or turn pain inward because their IQ is out of this world.
NO!
This all occurs because they are not heard!
They are then left questioning what they feel and know to be true.
They are then left having to mistrust their own 'inner-compass' and the world they live in.
They are then left feeling like they are flawed because an adult told them 'It is not true' when they know it happened.
Finally they bury their sense-of-self until they no longer 'exist', and the abuse that 'did not happen' festers silently within them, wiping out their 'Voice'.
IT IS TIME WE STARTED LISTENING TO CHILDREN - THEY DO NOT LIE!
THEY ARE OUR 'BETTER TOMORROW', OUR 'HEALED TOMORROW' AND OUR ONLY HOPE FOR CHANGE.
